All NEW Mobile Art Parties to go!

Hello & Welcome to Thotshop Creative Art Studio!

New Decade New Direction … Thotshop is taking it on the road! … on the eve of the New Year, after
7 super fun filled years bursting with giggles, laughs & silliness making creative projects with old & new friends Thotshop Creative Art Studio is closing it’s retail doors ... BUT not going away! ... just stepping back a little & taking the show on the road (& online!) We will still do painting + making parties & special events as well as scouts & private lessons off site at homes, schools, outdoors & at local community event spaces.

I have LOVED  having my own creative space to share with all of you, but I miss time with my family as well as wanting to carve some creative making time for myself.  So with more and more requests to hold events offsite, I have decided to take the studio on the road. I will continue to bring quality parties & events with new ideas and all the fun, just like I have done over the years ... only now to go & at your favorite spot! THANK YOU to ALL who have come in to the shop giving me love & support! I am excited for this new path for the business and I will see you around town! Wishing you all a very happy, healthy, bright & colorful 2020!!

much love, Carolyn

About Thotshop

Make! Create! Design!

I’m Carolyn Gmelich and I am the founder/owner of Thotshop Creatives Studio in La Canada, California.  I spent my childhood under foot of my uber creative mom crafting, making and designing with everything I could get my hands on. Now, as a mom of three girls, I’ve been able to touch back on those skills while orchestrating birthday parties, brainstorming school projects as well as all arts and crafts room decor for their ever-changing styles.  As they’ve each grown and found their true interests, I’m happy to see they’ve developed their own special creativity to carry them through life & all.

I earned my B.S. in Studio Arts from California State University, Long Beach and worked in marketing and graphic design until kids, paused for a few years, then started parent teaching art at their elementary school.  I loved drumming up new, unique projects then seeing all the various interpretations & huge smiles on their faces.  Twelve plus years & multiple grades later, I took a leap and opened my own little studio in Montrose, CA during the summer of 2013 offering classes & workshop for both kids and adults. Three years later, I expanded & moved locations adding a retail space selling custom gifts, seasonal decor and creative craft kits.  I now offer mobile art parties to go for BDay celebrations as well as super fun, creative Paint and Pour nights for the drink-y, crafty (& even not so crafty) crowd.  I hope I get the chance to meet you soon!
